According to a recent report from L’Equipe, Manchester City are amongst three top European clubs that are interested in battling it out for the services of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Edouard Michut. The 16 year old has been compared to the likes of Andres Iniesta by the club’s sporting director, and while that may seem like a bit of an overstatement at such a young age, he certainly carries himself like a player that has many more years at this level than he actually has.
All three clubs involved – which includes Spanish sides Valencia and Barcelona, are starting to reconnect with the idea that they need to bring young and fresh talent through at the club. City, in particular, have spent so long being known as the club that just throws money at a player and hopes for the best in the transfer window.
Pep Guardiola wants to change the mentality, and rightfully so.
